Are a CV and a Resume the same thing? If not, what are the differences? I have a job in the IT industry, and I also run my own business and websites. I've never had to write a CV, at least I never called anything I wrote a CV. I may have written one without knowing, but I called it a Resume. My Resume got me my current job without much trouble, or should I say it got me the interview? I did the rest with my personality, confidence, and good looks ;-) |

Yes a CV is the exact same thing as a Resume. Here in the UK we call it CV, and as you already know over in America its called resume! :) |

What does CV stand for? I used to know, but now I cannot remember. I am guessing Curciulum Vitae? However, I am not sure. |

These are the same thing! I know this is confusing for some people, but they mean the same just depends on what country you live in! |

Hi Isabella, yes CV is an acronym for Curriculum Vitae which comes orginally from Latin. I think its means something like "Course of Life": Curriculum -> Course Vitae -> Life |
